Attitude Adjustment
Who needs one? Do you know of someone that could use a good attitude adjustment? :) or should I say :(? That’s not good, in fact did you know that Jesus had a lot to say about major attitude adjustments? Really you ask? Many wonder (really many do NOT wonder), if in fact the people in Bible times had attitudes that needed adjusting. Have you ever wondered that? Did Jesus encounter people who’s attitudes were less than perfect, you know, like yours? J or should I say L. Do you think people in Biblical times ever cut off another chariot during rush hour traffic? Hmmmm….interesting thought. Do you think people in Biblical times ever got overwhelmed, like you and me, when they sat at their desks on Monday morning only to open up Outlook and stare at 100+ e-scrolls that came in over the weekend?
Well let me answer that paragraph long question/commentary. YES! Are you kidding me? Of course, attitudes needed adjusting the moment God created them! Did you know that one of the first sermons Jesus ever preached dealt with this topic? Well you do now….it’s called the “Sermon on the Mount”. Unquestionably the most popular sermon ever given….next to my personal best, sermon #222 (which would be last weeks). In Jesus’ message He gave us what we now commonly refer to as the “Beatitudes”.
That is going to be how we open up 2010, we are going to look at Christ’s teaching on the “Beatitudes”. What did Jesus have to say about my happiness, my sadness, my grief, my problems, my life? Let me bluntly say….you cannot afford to miss this series of messages. In all seriousness, God wants to do some major things in your life in 2010, and one of the best ways to start this New Year is by listening to what He has to say to you.
This is going to be good!
