FROM PASTOR VIRGIL

Are You Happy?

Yes you are.  No you’re not.  Maybe?  What makes you happy?  Be honest, you can here, mostly because you are there and I am over here, which means I cannot hear you (unless you open the window and scream really loud).  Where were we?  What makes you happy?  If you’re honest, be honest, you can here, mostly because you are there and I am over here, which means I cannot hear you (unless you open the window and scream really loud). Hey, we heard that already!  But wouldn’t you say that your happiness comes and goes?  Why?  It’s here one moment and gone the next.  Here is the reason….share this, remember this, teach this to your kids.  For most people, they tie their happiness directly to their circumstances!  And, we all know that life is fluid, there are ebbs and flows to the rhythm of life.  And if you and I tie our happiness to our surroundings, we’re in for a big roller coaster ride.

What did Jesus say?  (about roller coasters?  No, there weren’t those back then.)  What did Jesus say about happiness?  God talks a lot about where happiness comes from.  Jesus taught us about the source of true happiness in life.

Hey, (yes, yes, it’s for horses) wouldn’t it be awesome (nice 80’s word), wouldn’t it be RADICAL if you could always walk around with a smile on your face, and positive words coming out of your mouth?  Let me tell you this, your family would think it’s totally rad!  (funny how Word put a little red line under the word ‘rad’…yup there it is again :(.

This weekend we’re going to look and study what Jesus had to say about you and your happiness.  You’re not going to want to miss this Sunday!  I am looking forward to seeing you.

Pastor Virgil

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

The Beatitudes

Matthew Chapter 5

Through this series based on the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, Pastor Virgil looks at what God says about our happiness. Come learn how humility can affect our happiness and look at ways to heal a broken heart in a message on grief. Also learn how Jesus teaches how you can control your reactions, how to find peace, the secret of satisfaction and how giving can make life happier. Finally, we will focus on how to develop a pure heart and how to handle harassment for our faith.

This is going to be an exciting time of growth in your life and in the life of our church.  You cannot afford to miss any of these life-changing messages for the New Year.
