Dear Jesus; Today I Give My “YES” To You,

Something each of us has the opportunity to do, is give the word ‘yes’ to Jesus in advance. Yes is such a ‘little’ word pack with great potential. If you’re like most people, you think little about how many words you use each day. For you and me alike, life can really get going fast.

Life can get going so fast. Sometimes we get stressed and say things we didn't mean to say in a way we wish we hadn't. You will speak enough words in one year to fill 66 books that are 800 pages long. The average man speaks 20,000 words per day, while the average woman speaks 30,000 words a day. We are a nation of talkers. We have talk shows on the radio and TV, and cell phones that are literally attached to our ears. Yes, we like to talk!

Someone has estimated that 55 million Americans listen to 400,000 pastors deliver over 1 billion words every Sunday. Well, I'm going to give them all to you now! We even have sayings about our sayings, such as, "When all is said and done, more is said than is done", and "Loose lips sink ships". You might even have said, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me." But they do, don't they?

Proverbs has a lot to say about our words. There are over 120 verses related to different aspects concerning our speech. But I want to encourage you in one word, the word ‘yes’.  Today, Jesus is asking you the following:

Will you choose to…follow Me?

Will you choose to…give your YES to Me?

Will you choose to…hear my voice and live?

Will you choose to…use your life to serve Me?

Will you choose to…spend your life on Me?

Will you choose TODAY to give your YES to Me?

I challenge you today to give God your ‘yes’ in advance and see what great things He has in store for you.  I promise you, God has greater things in store for you than you can imagine.

You will not want to miss church this weekend, as we collectively give our ‘yes’ to Jesus and trust Him to give us opportunity to do good to those around us in a way that only He can orchestrate.  Our band is putting together a beautiful song that is entitled “Today” using those very words we all read above.

God Bless You TODAY!
