FROM OUR CAMPAIGN DIRECTOR

What exciting times we are in! Our building campaign continues to move forward. God is bringing more and more people to our church body. Our Children's Ministry seems to be growing each week. God has truly blessed our church. I am so grateful and humbled to be a part of what God is doing in Lake Stevens.

Pastor Virgil and I were talking last week about the great things that are happening at Family Church and we both marveled at the number of people in our church that volunteer to help out in so many ways. Pastor shared with me that his experience was that the age old 80/20 rule was in effect in most churches when it comes to volunteering. That is, 20% of the people do the majority of the volunteering, while the other 80% seldom get involved. At Family Church, the opposite is true. The vast majority of our congregation are deeply involved in some aspect of volunteering to do whatever it takes to keep the physical part of our church operating.

Whether it's being part of the set up and tear down crew, bringing snacks and setting up coffee, driving the truck and trailer, cooking for the church barbecue, helping teach our children, doing mailers at the office, making phone calls for special events, helping out on fund raisers, performing with the worship team, or any of a dozen other tasks, we have been truly blessed with a very giving body of believers. I'm confident that this is one of many reasons why people in our community are drawn to this church.

On February 28th, we want to recognize all of you that have ever volunteered at our church. At both services we will have a special recognition for our volunteers. In addition, we want to get feed back from you if you have ideas on what we can do to improve any aspect of our growing church. So, bring any ideas/thoughts that you have to share with you on the 28th as we will be asking for your input.

Thank you for your service to His kingdom and our body. You are very much appreciated. We look forward to seeing all of you on the 28th.

John Owens

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

The Beatitudes

Matthew Chapter 5

Through this series based on the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, Pastor Virgil looks at what God says about our happiness. Come learn how humility can affect our happiness and look at ways to heal a broken heart in a message on grief. Also learn how Jesus teaches how you can control your reactions, how to find peace, the secret of satisfaction and how giving can make life happier. Finally, we will focus on how to develop a pure heart and how to handle harassment for our faith.

This is going to be an exciting time of growth in your life and in the life of our church.  You cannot afford to miss any of these life-changing messages for the New Year.
