What Matters Most?

Have you ever stopped to think about that?  I know many of you are reading this at work, some at home, and some more savvy type at a ‘hot spot’ or somewhere where free wireless got you on the information highway!  But what does matter most?  I could give you my ideas, but rather than bore you with that, what is Jesus’ idea on that subject?  Did you know the Bible talks about that very question?  “No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.”  1 Corinthians 13:3 (Msg)  Life is all about love.  Because God is love, the most important lesson He wants you to learn on earth is how to love.  It is in loving that we are most like Him, so love is the foundation of every command He has given us.  “The whole law can be summed up in this one command:  ‘Love others as you love yourself’.”  Gal 5:14 (LB)  Love should be your top priority, primary objective, and greatest ambition.  Love is not a good part of your life; it’s the most important part.  The Bible says, “Let love be your greatest aim”.  Life without love is really worthless.  Paul makes this point in the verse above.  So let me encourage you today, in this moment, everything we do at LSFC, everything we are, and everything we hope to be MUST be centered in love.  And as the Bible says, “God is love”, then it is safe to say, everything we do, everything we are, and everything we hope to be must be centered in GOD.

So, what matters most?  Love.  What is the true source of love?  God.

We really look forward to seeing you at one of our weekend celebration services @ 9:30 or 11:00am.

Blessings,

Pastor Virgil
