Greetings Family Church

Taking stock is something you’ll hear used a lot in the business world.  This is a time when a business evaluates itself, its inventory, and its business plan.  I think we can all learn a lot from taking stock.  I would venture to say very few people slow down long enough to evaluate themselves, take personal inventory (health, rest, finances, spiritual issues, etc.)  and look at their life’s direction

I want to send out a challenge to all who would receive it.  Take stock in your life.  How are you doing?

As you do that I want to encouage us to all take stock of our church.  I want to encourage you to stay faithful in your church attendance this summer.  We all know that summer is a time to ‘take a break’.  However it is too easy to want to take a break from church and that’s not God’s plan for you and your walk with Him.  Stay faithful to God with your time, talents and treasure.

I also want to call all who would pray, to pray for your church.  God has great plans for us to establish a substantial, healthy community of believers in Lake Stevens .  There are many ways you can pray for your church, but let me offer the following prayer for you to pray.  Here’s how you can use this prayer:  Pray it right now, Print it out and pray it every day this week.

Dear God,

First, I want to thank you for your love and concern for Family Church .  Your plans for us are great, your vision for us is large, but your provision for us is sufficient.  Thank you for being God.  Thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ for the church, for our salvation and for giving us the perfect example to follow.  We know that unless you are the one who builds the church, we all labor in vain.  So we invite you to lead us, teach us, challenge us and establish us in our community and abroad.  We confess that we desperately need you.  Please provide the resources of people to serve, talent to create and dream, and resources to provide for the practical needs of ministry.  Bless our staff, lead them, inspire them, and protect them.  As we follow Christ give us favor in our community.  Bring people to you through us and teach us to love the people we worship with and do life with.  Thank you for your love for us, we pray that You shine through all we do.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We love you and look forward to seeing you at one of our worship services this Father’s Day weekend.
