Greetings Family Church –

What a great time of year we have entered.  It’s time to start pulling out the sweatshirts and jeans as we leave the sun behind.  I am excited for this Fall season.  We have some incredible opportunities, as a church, to reach out to our community.  I want to encourage each of you in two areas:

  1. I encourage you to continue to be faithful in your giving – in both finances and time.  If you’re not already giving of your finances on a regular basis – I implore you to start making this a weekly habit.  I promise that God will bless you and your family - more than you can ever imagine – if you will give regularly in your tithes & offerings.  When it comes to giving of your time – get involved in one of our weekly service teams. No matter what your giftings are, there is a place for you.  Not only will you & others be blessed when you serve, you will build relationships by being on one of these teams.  If you’re not serving – you’re missing out!!!
  2. Bring someone to church with you each week.  There are too many people in this great community that do not go to church on a regular basis…but would if they were invited.  Statistics show that people will not regularly attend a church if they do not have relationship.  So, join the rest of us this season and make it a priority to invite your friends and neighbors to church with you.

As we continue into the fall, I want to point you to a few areas that you and your family can get involved in:

  • September 16th we began a new teaching series entitled: “Questions I Have for Jesus”.  In our frenzied rush through life, we rarely slow down long enough to ask ourselves why we do what we do.  Over the next several weeks, we’ll discover that the amazing life God has in store for us is often just one question away.  Don’t miss out on any of the following messages:

1.      Why Do I Exist?

2.      Why Do I Hurt?

3.      Why Do I Question? (This Sunday).

4.      Why I Trust?

  • This Fall we launched the 2007/2008 Lake Stevens Community Kids’ Choir.  If you have kids grades K-7th, they are not going to want to miss out.  It’s not too late to join!!!  Here they will learn high-powered, high-energy music, perform live and record on an album.  Be sure to register your kids & their friends for this incredible opportunity.
  • October 12th and 13th our youth (6th grade-12th grade) will be heading to Yakima for the 2007 Northwest Youth Conference.  This is a great opportunity for you to send your teenager to an event they will never forget. (See Angela for more details.)
  • October 31st will be our Harvest Carnival at Cedar Springs Camp.  We have some incredible games and prizes for that night…and of course, Lots of Candy!!!  Here is your opportunity to be involved in something great.  If you want to get involved you can contact Thomas or Mikey Trexel at mtrexel@gmail.com.

These few dates are just the beginning.  We are excited to see how God will continue to use you and LSFC to reach out to the Lake Stevens Community.  What a great Fall/Autumn this is going to be!!!  Looking forward to seeing you all at church.  Remember, “The Greatest Thing You Can Do For Your Church is Bring Someone With You.”

Blessings,

Pastor Virgil
