Merry Christmas!

We been enjoying a wonderful Christmas series as we teach our way though Christmas.  What a wonderful time to reflect, study and remind ourselves, as Christians, what Christmas is really all about.  It’s also a time of year where we are reminded that God is a ‘miracle working’ God that demonstrated His love and power at the very first Christmas.  God loves you and God loves our church.

I want to encourage you this week to plan on being at church this weekend and also make plans to be in church on Christmas Eve.  This weekend you’ll have the wonderful opportunity to hear the testimony from a wonderful lady in our church who is a life-long student of God’s love for her.  You’ll be greatly encouraged and our prayer is inspired in your walk with Jesus.

Christmas is a great time of year and as followers of Christ we have a mandate to acknowledge the gift of Jesus and to perpetuate His message of love to the world in and through the actions of our lives.  (some of you will need to read that sentence again)  And one of the greatest ways to do that is to love God and love the people right around you.  Let me share with you the theme of 2008; 2008 will be the year where It’s All About Belonging.  You belong to Christ and you belong in our church family.  But the message doesn’t end there, everyone that walks into church with us, also belongs.  God came for everyone and we’re called to love everyone, right where they’re at.

So pray with me and commit with me that we will carry the message of Christmas and share that love with others.  We look forward to worshipping with you at one of our services this weekend.  Blessings,

Pastor Virgil
